What's the difference between 85% and 100% blackout?

85% blackout significantly reduces light but may allow some light around edges. 100% blackout (also called total blackout) blocks virtually all light, ideal for bedrooms and home theaters. The 100% option typically uses a special coating or backing.

What are the different names for blackout fabric?

Blackout fabric is also known as: room darkening fabric, light blocking fabric, opaque curtain fabric, blackout lining, or simply blackout material. Variations include thermal blackout (with insulation), 3-pass blackout (triple-coated), or foam-backed blackout. In Chinese, it's called 遮光布, 全遮光布, 遮阳布, 隔光布, or 涂层遮光布. These all refer to fabric designed to block light transmission.
